About Fieldfare Wildlife

Fieldfare Wildlife was established and is run by Dr. Jade Gunnell, a naturalist and community engagement expert.  Originally trained as an ecologist, Jade has 15 years of experience in educating and engaging the public with science and the environment.  In 2021 she was awarded a PhD in Co-created Citizen Science for Community Action.

Fieldfare's mission is to help people to access the wildlife that is on their doorstep; helping them to know where and how to look, understand who and what they are looking at, and build a sense of connection to the extraordinary organisms that we live alongside. 

Fieldfare offers a range of wildlife walks, workshops and experiences designed to reveal the hidden lives of our local wildlife.  The programme is designed for adults, who are a relatively underserved audience when it comes to nature education and connection opportunities.  There are a range of scientific, artistic and well-being orientated events to choose from.
