What to expect

What does a Bat Safari involve?

Fieldfare Bat Safaris involve an hour and a half nocturnal walk through our local wild spaces in order to find and learn about British Bats.

The safaris are led by Dr. Jade Gunnell, a naturalist and conservationist, with over 10 years experience of science education and public engagement with nature. Jade provides a vibrant and engaging safari experience, filled with knowledge, curiosity and excitement.

Safaris are jam-packed with facts and stories about the lives of bats, but also involve the use of bat detectors to actively search for bat hunting grounds.

Audience

Suitable for adults, these events are perfect for nature enthusiasts or people looking to try something new.   These events are not suitable for children under the age of 11 years old.

Location

We currently lead Bat Safaris from St Ives, Hemingford Grey, Houghton Mill and Huntingdon, but we are looking to add some more locations very soon.

Time

Bat Safaris start at sunset and are 1.5 hours long.  The start and end times therefore vary depending on the time of year.

COst

Tickets are £10 per person.
