A morning wander listening to and learning bird songs. Come and discover the cheeky antics of our feathered friends through their breeding season.
Our Birdsong for Beginners events run at the height of the bird breeding season from March to late June.
2023 dates coming later in the year!
Dr Jade Gunnell will lead you on a relaxing and leisurely walk, listening out for our local breeding birds. You will learn tips and tricks for listening to and making sense of birdsong, and then learn some of the most common songs. You will also find out about the bird breeding season and the antics that different species get up to.
Suitable for adults and young adults, who are beginner or novice bird watchers and would like to expand their skills. Whether you're completely new to bird identification, or a dab hand at identifying by sight but don't know the sounds, this short walk/workshop is perfect for getting to know our feathered friends that little bit better.
We lead these walks from St Ives.
These events take place between March and June of each year.
Birdsong for Beginners walks take place in the morning, when the birds are most active, and last for 1.5 hours.
Tickets cost £10 per person.
